You will have noticed there are still lots of coloured drawings on streets across the town centre, and you may also have found some roads closed in an evening for a short time in recent weeks.
This is part of the surveying work taking place for The Brighouse Deal so we know what is underground and where – vital knowledge to have when drawing up deliverable plans.
It is being carried out by one of the contractors involved in the projects and is expected to be completed by the end of the week. The surveys are non-intrusive and are taking place between 6pm and 2am to minimise disturbance whilst this important activity takes place.

As the surveys do not disturb the fabric of the roads and are ‘rolling’, with just a short section of road closed at a time to protect the contractors, reduced notice has been accepted to facilitate the swift conclusion of this work.
As there is no disturbance of the road surface, essential and emergency access is also maintained at all times while the surveying work is taking place.
